Seattle is a city famous for its rain. There's nothing like stepping outside to a foggy morning in the Northwest and being able to see your breath dissolve into the air. And nothing captures that feeling better than a good song.

Kelsey Sprague, with only her voice and an acoustic guitar, manages to convey everything beautiful and simultaneously desperate about the constant mist, relieved by the occasional spike of sunshine. With influences ranging from classics like Patsy Cline and Connie Francis to more contemporary names such as Josh Ritter, Jenny Lewis, and Camera Obscura, Kelsey manages to take familiar sounds and make them her own. With a sound that captures both vulnerability and independence, it expresses a world weariness and a wide eyed wonder that will make you feel like you're stepping outside, watching your own breath disappear.

Kelsey Sprague Band is living room dream pop. Playing all over Washington, Oregon, and Colorado across the past 6 years, Kelsey brings her intimate sound to a larger audience in 2019 with the release of Heavy Burdens, a 5 song EP highlighting the dreamy, Americana vibes that evoke both nostalgia and sweetness for her audience.

Having been a backup singer and solo singer-songwriter for a number of years, Kelsey is a strong vocalist who's energy shines through in her instant connection with her audiences. Her ability to capture attentions in the intimacy of a house show just as easily as in the din of the local bar stems from her honest presentation. Many times have people been tearfully reminded of their own stories through her performances. She wears her heart on her sleeve with her lyricism, tackling timeless themes of relationships lost, self-love, and self-vulnerability. A goof-ball with many lifetimes of personal experiences, she hops on and off the stage as if she was hopping in and out of conversation with a good friend, naturally weaving the tales of her songs with the stories and effects of her quite oddly-woven journey.

The Heavy Burdens EP marks a new start for Kelsey with a new band formed around her in 2019. Enrolling the help of an all star line up of backup singers and players, her once gentle, ponderous sound now takes on a dance-able, harmony-driven, upbeat sound. The bands comradery shines on stage, and their lighthearted approach to even the toughest subjects keeps audiences in a dreamy high. Her music this year has shared the stage with acts ranging from folk to rock, from psychedelia to dream pop. With more headlining shows planned in 2020 alongside festival appearances, Kelsey Sprague is beginning a new phase of her time in the Northwest music circuit.
